Oh-oh! Firstly - sounds like a nightmare! My sympathies to you, your wife and kiddie! Disgusting treatment!

I've flown to Poland at least twice a year with my (Polish) wife and 8 y/o kiddie since we lived there in the 1990's - on 3 relatively recent previous occassions with Wizzair - no real problems then.

Wizzair sent us an email about a week ago to state that they 'had' to move our scheduled return flight to Katowice (outbound) back 4 days (arranged more annual leave at work , leaving workplace short). Today we received an email as follows:

'Dear Passenger, We are very sorry to inform you that a flight in your booking (reservation code: (censored)) has been cancelled. Wizz Air Call Centre will contact you to discuss your options. Should you wish to talk to a Call Centre operator as soon as possible please call the Wizz Air schedule change assistance number at +44 (0) 871 265 7257 or one of the numbers to be found on wizzair.com We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this cancellation may cause. Wizz Air Customer Service'

The telephone number sounds dodgy/expensive and I've got a really bad feeling about this!

Bizarrely Wizzair sent us an invoice for the flight 2 hours after the above email (we've already paid for the flight and it's electronically receipted!). Just 'wonder' (!) if we'll get a call. Think I'll refer this one to a colleague in Trading Standards...at least then I prob won't have to pay for the calls!

We've a family wedding in a few days - have a feeling that we're possibly going to miss it or/and be heavily out of pocket!

Nowhere near as bad as the guy above's problems....but feel similar coming on! (At least we've family in Opole...though that's about 100 miles West of Katowice!)

If I remembere, will keep this site posted.

I was due to fly back from Poland, Katowice airport on the 24th of July 2008, however as normal I always check on the internet for delays etc. On checking flights out of Katowice to Belfast I could not find my flight and decided to give Wizzair a call and unfortunately was on hold by telephonic robot for over an hour at a cost of £1.00 per minute. At this stage I was very angry and decided to call Belfast International airport who kindly told me that Wizzair had pulled all of their flights out of Belfast as of the 17th of July. I was devastated, I my heavily pregnant wife and my 2 year old daughter were left stranded in Poland and had no way of contacting Wizzair. I looked on the internet for alternative flights and they were an absolute fortune and the best I could do was to fly from Prague by Easyjet the following Sunday,4 days later and a 5 hour journey by car. I have since sent multiple emails to Wizzair and have had no response. I would not recommend this airline to anyone and as far as I am concerned they are unprofessional and you cannot get in touch when anything goes wrong.
