Jadrolinija’s Coastal Ferries will sail from June to October only

According to Jutarnji.hr , Jadrolinija’s Coastal Ferries that connect Rijeka with Dubrovnik via Split, Hvar, Korcula and Mljet , proceeding further to Bari in Italy, will sail from June to October only. As I said in my previous post, the reason for this is high cost of running this ferry, as it needs 62 crew members to sail while in winter month, there are only in average 7 passengers that are using this ferry.

Temporary suspension of coastal ferry line from Rijeka to Dubrovnik and Bari
Croatian State Agency for Coastal Lines and Maritime Traffic (Agencija za obalni linijski pomorski promet) has announced that Jadrolinija‘s coastal ferry line from Rijeka to Dubrovnik and Bari is temporarily suspended for period from 05.02. to 28.02.2010.

Ferry from Dubrovnik to Greece

According to Slobodna Dalmacija daily, there is a strong possibility that the Greek shipping company Minoan Lines will soon establish a new ferry line from Dubrovnik to Greece. The planned new ferry route will run from Patras and will sail via Igoumenitsa , Corfu and Dubrovnik to Venice. Tourist fleet development in Croatia
Croatian Ministry of the Sea, Transport and Infrastructure have recently signed contracts with 12 tourist and excursion boat owners. Together, they will receive payment of 3.3 million Kuna for the building and reconstruction of their ships and boats.
