The castle Veliki Tabor, located in the Hrvatsko zagorje region, is numbered among the most attractive and best-preserved monuments of medieval fortification architecture in Croatia.

The Novi dvori (New Palace) in Zaprešic, a small town situated some 17 kilometres west of Zagreb in Hrvatsko Zagorje region,  is a historic complex that last year saw the launch of the first phase of its renovation. The palace was once the residence of Croatia’s well known Ban (viceroy), Josip Jelacic.

During this year‘s 37th Varaždin Baroque Evenings , held in September in town of Varazdin, in Hrvatsko Zagorje, concerts have also been organised in Trakošcan Castle, in Ludbreg, Lepoglav, Varaždinske toplice, Krapina, Prelog, Zacretje, Križevci, Stubicki Golubovec, Osijek and Vukovar.

Wine roads, a mouth-watering culinary offer typical of the continental region, green hills and a fascinating cultural, historical and sacral offer - these are all details of the typical rural tourism offer in Zagreb County and the Hrvatsko Zagorje region of Croatia and, given the proximity, of a part of neighbouring Slovenia.
