Four new low cost carriers arrive at Pula Airport

By the end of 2007, the four additional low cost air carriers will introduce their flights to Pula Airport. These are the German companies Germanwings and TUIfly, the Hungarian air carrier Wizzair and the Danish Sterling.

Ferries Croatia Changes
The Venezia Lines, a ferry company that runs ferries between Italy and Croatia ( about ferries in Croatia) has been announced some changes in their schedules. Venezia Lines is no longer operating from Opatija to Venice and is no longer operating departures from Rimini/Ravenna. Instead, thier 3rd vessel is redirected to operate new ferry line between Bari (Italy) and Albania (Durres).

Croatia: Introduction of ferry line from Zadar to Istria

Another good news is comming from Ministry of Sea, Tourism, Transport and Development of Croatia. They just announced their proposal submittion to Croatian Government for introduction of new ferry line Pula-Mali Lošinj-Zadar and possible connections to islands Ilovik and Unija which will be substitute for ex-ferry line Zadar-Silba-Mali Lošinj-Unije-Pula-(Koper ili Venezia) that was run by ferry ” Marina” of Losinjska Plovidba.

Rovinj Eco Museum selected for European Museum of the Year Award

Rovinj’s eco-museum, the “Batana House”, which presents the traditional life of fishermen and of the other inhabitants of Rovinj, has been placed in the top selection for the prestigious European Museum of the Year Award 2007 (EMYA 2007) which has been conferred since 1977 by the European Museum Forum, based in Great Britain. The final winner’s ceremony will be held at the beginning of Mayin the Spanish city of Alicante.

New Istra Bike Trails Website

The Istria Tourist Board recently launched a new website http://www.istria-bike.com/ which is dedicated to cycling offers of Istra. It offes a range of valuable Istria cycling information targeted to tourists and local fans of recreational and professional cycling. Southern Section of Istarski Ipsilon Motorway is Opened

The 13-kilometer-long Southern section of the Istarski Ipsilon motorway, that connects Vodnjan and the Pula in Istria, is opened. The Motorway’s construction works began in August 2005 and includes 8 flyovers, 10 underpasses and one bridge.
