Croatia Boat Show opens in Split

The 9th international nautical fair Croatia Boat Show opened in Split with participation of over 300 Croatian and foreign exhibitors from some twenty countries on more than 120,000 square metres of exhibition space.
The fair will be open until 22 April.
It features about fifty state-of-the-art boats from Croatia and the world.
Besides the official events, the fair will include a large number of different events and attractive regattas of top yachtsmen from Croatia and other countries.
The ninth edition of the Croatia Boat Show is the largest nautical event in Croatia and South-eastern Europe.
Over 120.000 square meters exhibition space stretch from the western side of the downtown Promenade to the St. Peter’s Pier in the ferry port. This year the participants – 306 Croatian and international boat builders, equipment makers and service providers – come form 20 countries. The Split show has a slight edge over most other nautical shows – most of the exhibits, 271 yachts and boats, are displayed in water, while another 154 boats and thousands of other nautical articles and instruments can be admired on land; in booths and on the garage deck of the Petar Hektorovic ferry.
The opening ceremony held today had a special guest – Prime Minister of the Republic of Croatia, Mr. Ivo Sanader, whose welcome speech praised the effort and know-how of the organizer Profectus and its CEO, Mr. Vicenco Blagaic and expressed the Prime Minister’s pride in this internationally acclaimed event that puts Split eye to eye with the greatest.
Other speakers at the opening ceremony were Minister of Sea, tourism, transport and development Bozidar Kalmeta, mayor of Split Zvonimir Puljic and the regional manager for Dalmatia for Hypo Group Alpe Adria, the general sponsor of the Show Filip Duvancic.
Although lately the media speculated on possible moving of the show to another location, mayor Puljic announced the show and its organizer can count on the support of the city and the region to keep it downtown, in the very heart of the city, on the recently fully renovated Promenade.
Mr. Blagaic, Profectus CEO, praised the effort of everyone involved in the organization of this year’s show – the company’s energetic team and faithful exhibitors – and concluded all the expectations of the organizer have once again come to fulfillment, and the number of exhibitors, reporters and visitors from all corners of the world has again increased.
The Croatia Boat Show will be open every day 10 am – 7 pm, until April 22, 2007.
Out of number of exciting events we suggest you come to the presentation of new Croatian Caribbean Yacht Charter owned jointly by Mr. Goran Strok and Mr. Vicenco Blagaic. The presentation will begin at 6 pm in the CCYC pavilion on the pontoon island and will be followed by a cocktail party for the media and guests.
