Croatian Tourism Figures
According to Ministarstvo Mora, Prometa, Turizma i Razvitka Republike Hrvatske (Ministry of Tourism), Croatia is planning to increase turnover in the tourist trade up to two percent and revenues by five percent this year.
At its session held in Zagreb earlier last week, Sea and Tourism Minister Božidar Kalmeta reiterated that 2006 had seen a record 10.3 million tourists, which was a four percent rise from 2005.
Foreign holiday-makers accounted for 8.6 million (a two-percent rise), and the number of domestic tourists climbed by 13 percent to 1.7 million.
The revenues from the tourist trade in the first nine months of 2006 came to 5.8 billion euros.
The statistics about the revenues from the whole 2006 will be announced in March.
