I was considering a ferry from Split to Ancona or Pescara, so we can drive back thru italy to Milan to catch an early morning flight back to the usa on jul 9th, Monday. My visa requires us to be in Italy by Saturday July 7.

    1) My goal is to choose the best ferry that wd assure arrival by the 7th to italy
SNAV from Split to Ancona, OR
    SANMAR from Split to Pescara
    What do you recommend?

    2) If we go to Pescara, we wd have to drove to/thru Ancona on the way to Milan — is it a pretty / desirable drive??

    3) Are the ferries reliable as to punctuality? both departure and arrival??

    Thank you!

    Lily:
There are no ferries that sail directly from Venice to Zadar.
However, there is a ferry that sails from Venice to Pula : http://www.find-croatia.com/ferries-croatia/booking.html

and another one that sails from Pula to Zadar: http://www.find-croatia.com/ferries-croatia/pula-zadar-ferry.php

You can purchase Venice to Pula online here : http://www.find-croatia.com/ferries-croatia/booking.html

Sorry, the ferry timetable for Pula to Zadar one are not yet updated for summer 2008, nor you can purchase the ticket online. Tickets for thi ferry are sold on the day of departure.

    Hello ,
You mentioned that the ferry timetable still has not been updated and that you cannot purchase tickets online for this service. Can you please tell me that address andwhere the tickets are purchased from on the day of departure. I have to get from Zadar to Pula because I have to catch a ferry the next day from pula to venice. If this is not a option I will have to hire a car but I need to make sure that the ferry is infact still running and will not be cancelled and if my relatives can buy these tickets a few days in advance for me.
    thankyou.
    Lily
