Floating Book Fair in Split, Croatia
If you happened to be in Split (the capital of Dalmatia) in next couple of days, don’t miss opportunity to visit a floating book fair that is currently running at Logos II ship, anchored in Split harbour.
This unusual ship book fair, run by British charity “Educational Book Exhibits”, with a crew of couple of hundred volunteers from various countries, aims to “promote inter-cultural understanding by offering knowledge, help and hope”.
Over 9 million visitors have been welcomed on board for tours, programmes and visits to the floating bookshop since it started to sail in 1989.
With stops in over 280 ports of call, ship has visited 76 countries, including Africa, the Americas, Europe, the Near East and many island nations.
The Split book fair closes on 20.02.07.
