Heart Shaped Croatian Island (2)

When I was surfing Google Earth back in March 2007, and found this heart shaped Croatian island of Galesnjak,  I did not expect this cute looking island to become so popular.

About year later, on the 14th February 2008, ABC News referred to it in it’s Heart-Shaped World clip:

Today, while reading my favorite Slobodna Dalmacija daily, I was surprised to find that CNN World Report will broadcast a programme about Galesnjak on St. Valantine’s Day (14.02.09)

The heart shaped Galešnjak Island covers an area of 132.475m2 with the highest peak of 34 m. The island has very little vegetation, so it was mainly used as a safe haven for local fishermen to avoid the bad weather.
