Opening of Hotel Libertas Dubrovnik
Hotel Libertas, once one among top Dubrovnik hotels, is currently being renovated by Rixos hotel chain which is investing more that fifty million euros in its refurbishment.
Once finished, the new Rixos Hotel Libertas located in Dubrovnik’s suburbs of Boninovo/Gorica at Lapad peninsula, will have about three hundred accommodation units, congress halls, three restaurants, a state of the art night club and casino, all spread over 14 cascaded floors overlooking the sea.
A small shopping centre with exclusive boutiques, fireplace and Cigar lounge will act as hotel lobby.
The reopening of Hotel Libertas is expected to be in May this year.

Regarding Rixos Libertas Hotel
More than 30 million Euros!? For this?! I’m not sure if the owner knows where he’s building his hotel. Maybe he mistook it for American coast. If this goes on any longer (this type of building in Dubrovnik) you won’t even have to bother coming anymore because that beautiful Dalmatian (not American!) town will become a cement dump. Here’s one for the owner: if people come to Dalmatia they expect that sort of atmosphere and charm ,which it certainly it has - big time (otherwise people would’t be coming massively), and not hotels that are tipicaly American in it’s built. If you were any smarter they would of copied the old Libertas hotel as it adjusted itself to a beautiful cliff which now doesn’t exist. Ups! There goes that beautiful Dalmatian coast again.

Iam staying at your Hotel with Collette Tours june 3-5 2008. I would like to extend my stay after the tour is over for 3 nights june 5-8 2008.
