Free Travel Day at Croatian Trains with Eurail Select Pass

Eurail Group announced that it is offering an extra day of rail travel on all six, eight and ten day Eurail Select Passes purchased up until the end of March 2008. Customers will then have up to six months in which to start traveling.

This promotion is being offered to all customers worldwide, outside of Europe in order to encourage travelers to choose Eurail Pass and buy early. Read the rest of this entry »

Sljeme Mountain – FIS World Ski Cup event

croskiTo inaugurate Sljeme as a desirable destination for ski competitions, the Croatian Ski Federation organized in 2005 the Golden Bear World Ski Cup women’s slalom race. The event was later renamed Snow Queen in honour of Janica Kostelic, the all time greatest Croatian women’s skier.

Croatian Film at London Short Film Festival

Film ‘Market’ made by Croatian artist Ana Husman is currently screened at the London Short Film Festival (4th and 13th of January).

This animated film, beautifully made, is shot at Dolac, the Zagreb’s food market, where local people shop for fruit and vegetables.

The film lasts for just under 10 minutes and is available on youtube (for all of us that can not make it to the Festival) – have a look:
