According to a decision adopted by the European Commission’s Tourism Advisory Committee, along the nine other countries, Croatia has been nominated for the pilot project “European Destinations of Excellence” - “Best Emerging Rural Destinations”.
The announcement and presentation of awards will take place during the 6th European Tourism Forum, to be held in Portugal in late October this year. Read the rest of this entry »
Five hundred years old frescoes have been discovered at the church of Sveti Antun Pustinjak in Zadobarje near Karlovac.

Australia’s Greece and Mediterranean travel specialist “Greece and Mediterranean Travel Centre” have chosen the image of Dubrovnik for the cover of their new summer 2007 brochure.
For next summer “Greece and Mediterranean Travel Centre”, expanded its Croatia program including an island hopping program for the islands which fringe the Dalmatian coast.
The release of dedicated brochure which, beside Croatia, includes Italy, Spain Portugal and Cyprus, is motivated with the growth of travel options to Mediterranean destinations.
As a part of the larger project of easing Zagreb’s increasing traffic jams, the Zagreb Faculty of Traffic and Transport (Fakultet Prometnih Znanosti) have revealed new plans for the construction of the Zagreb underground and over-ground railway system. Read the rest of this entry »
