Rijeka Bypass is Opened

Rijeka Bypass RoadworksThe Eastern part of new Rijeka bypass, the stretch that connects Orehovica with Sveti Kuzma and a section of the D 404 road has been finally opened for traffic.

This part of Rijeka bypass was due to be opened in July, but was postponed because of the land slide on some sections of the road.

New Rijeka bypass is about 8.5 km long, includes 13 viaducts and 3 tunnels and due to its complex construction works was one of the most expensive road sections in Croatia.

The continuation of the construction works on the new stretch of the bypass (to Krizisce) is expected to start next spring.
