Suspension of coastal ferry line Rijeka-Split-Hvar-Korčula-Dubrovnik
Following the announcement of temporary suspension of coastal ferry line Rijeka-Split-Stari Grad-Korčula-Dubrovnik by Croatian State Agency for Coastal Lines and Maritime Traffic (Agencija za obalni linijski pomorski promet), we contacted the Agency and were informed that although plans for continuation of this ferry line were made in November 2009, due to new circumstances and changes in Croatian state budget for 2010, the Agency was forced to temporary suspend this ferry line.
According to Agency, there are no confirmed plans yet for future of this ferry line. However, the Agency’s spokesman suggested that the small number of passengers during off season (sometimes less than 10) as well as high cost of running these ferries will play important role in decision about future of this ferry line.
