Top 10 Croatian Islands

In last week’s travel section of The Guardian UK, Top 10 Croatian Islands were featured in the article titled ‘Island Hopping in Croatia’. The article, subtitled ‘Croatia’s varied islands offer everything from sailing to skinny dipping, isolated beaches to 24-hour parties’, wrtitten by Jane Foster - the author of the Footprint Croatia Handbook which 4th edition is due out in June 2008, gives an introduction to some of Island of Croatia. Here is an excerpt:
With over a thousand islands, islets and reefs, of which 66 are inhabited, the Croatian islands offer everything from nudist beaches to windsurfing, and organic wines to all-night dance parties. You can bed down in a boutique hotel or a back-to-basics cottage (no running water, no mains electricity), depending on your pain threshold. It’s also outside the eurozone so your holiday cash will go a bit further.
1 - Best for local food and wine: Vis - A Yugoslav military naval base and no-go zone for foreigners until 1989, Vis was invaded by yachties the moment the last submarine left. Now a hippy-chic summer hideaway, its informal konobe (taverns) serve Dalmatian seafood dishes. At Mola Trovna, Senko Karuza takes guests on fishing trips then shows you how to clean and cook your catch. We will be traveling to Croatia this August for 14 days. My wife and I have 14 and 11 year old girls. We are chartering from the moorings and leaving from Split and ending in Dubrovnik. Does anyone have a sail plan they recommend for our trip. Thanks

hi,am off to dubrovnik mid june. would like to go to a quiet island that does not take too much traveling to get to for 5 days. some thing with good beaches not too busy wit good basic accomadation.. and good places to eat. any tips as im clueless. we love any island in greece that you can not fly to, if you get my drift. thanks jane
