Stay in Split or near?

Hi, ill be staying in Split 2days and 3 nights. Is it bettr to stay in Split or a nearby city?
Recommendations?

Split is nice, old town is amazing especially in the evening

you can also stay in Trogir, but for short stay i would recommend my hometown Split

My plan:
1st day: After one day in Plitvice, night in Split
2nd. Full day in Split
3rd: by car Trogir, Primosten, Sibenik and night in Split

Do i miss anything?

Do you recommend me any hotel in Split or what area?

I think you will like it in Split, but of course that depends if you want something more quiet.
In Split is ok. Problem in Trogir is for parking the car, if you go to downtown Trogir, you must pay 15kn per hour, you can also park in Ciovo or somewhere before entering the island...
I would recommend you Split, definetely! For the hotel, it depends how much you want to spend.
