Hotel/Hostels in Split

Can anyone recommend a good value hotel or hostel in Split for one nght in August?  We are a family of four (2 adults + 2 teenagers aged 19 and 17) - nothing fancy but clean and basic, please!  Near the centre would be best as we will have limited time for seeing the major sites.
