No-Bikini zone at Vrbnik on Island of Krk
According to the Jutarnji List, the Rijeka based daily newspapers, pretty soon Vrbnik, the small place on Island of Krk will declare a "decency zone" in the city's centre, to ban regular summertime promenades of tourists wearing nothing but swimsuits.
With this, Vrbnik will become first tourist place in Croatia to accept controversial request by it's bishop to declare a

Many tourist officials and many residents have rejected the idea, arguing that in Krk, as most other Croatian tourist resorts, city centres are adjacent to beaches and it is therefore normal for people to walk around, have a drink or do some shopping in their swimsuits.
About Vrbnik: Vrbnik is small place on Island of Krk, a favourite venue for poets and artists, Vrbnik has always been a romantic attraction.
The entire settlement is one historic monument, the best known croatian castle-town, packed with glagolitic messages; it was Krk's centre for glagolitic scholars for many centuries.
One will find here the Statute of Vrbnik dating from 1388, law books, and the famous Vitezovic library which contains extremely valuable books. Amongst the collection of some 15.000 books there is also Kocher's atlas from 1718, which is one of the only two that still exist.
