Extra Large Risotto for everyone in Split

Risotto in Split today! 07.05.05 - If you are in Split today, don't miss out on the unique opportunity to be part of what is (probably) the world's largest risotto party!

As today is Split's city day (Sveti Duje Day), the people of Split are preparing a large risotto in a brand new giant saucepan.

The saucepan has a diameter of 2.5 meters in which they will cook 5000 portions of risotto.

This risotto is the largest one ever prepared in Croatia (and probably the world). It will consist of 100 kilo of scampi, 100 kilo of squid, 50 kilo of shells, 100 litre of tomato sauce and 300 kilos of rice.

Bon Appetite!

About Risotto: Risotto is a traditional Italian dish made with rice. It represents one of the noblest and at the same time one of the most common ways of cooking rice in Italy. It originated in Northwestern Italy, where rice paddies are abundant. Risotto is also traditional dish in Dalmatia.
