Cheap Flights to Pula

After successful cooperation last year, Pula Airport has reached a new agreement with the Irish low-cost airline Ryanair – as of spring this year, cheap flights to Pula from London and Dublin will once again be available. Another agreement has been reached with the German low-cost airline Germanwings – as of May, flights from Pula to Cologne will be available, and perhaps to Stuttgart later on.

In addition to the agreements reached for the said destinations, Pula Airport is still negotiating with Scandinavian countries, Slovakia and Czech Republic, and they also plan to offer flights to certain Spanish cities and Belgrade.

The director of Pula Airport pointed out that one of the objectives of the flights is to provide passengers with point to point flight options instead having to fly cheap via Italy.

All these projects require improvements of the Airport’s technical status and efforts to improve the infrastructure. They also plan to raise the level of passenger comfort with maximum government aid, and make numerous reconstructions on the runway, the platform and the airport building. The airport management believes the passenger safety and traveling quality are very important, and that the airport will be much more competitive on the market after the said works.

In 2007, over 385 000 passengers traveled via Pula Airport, which is 30 percent more as compared to 2006. In 2008, they expect ten percent more passengers than in 2007.

After Ryanair’s flights to London start on 1 April, and to Dublin soon afterwards, flights to Cologne will be offered as of 1 May. The Cologne flight season will last seven months, with flights available twice a week, Thursdays and Sundays.

Exceptionally affordable tickets for these flights are already available for online booking – click here

Thank you Juraj for that information. Given that does anybody know the best way to get to pula from either Dublin or preferably Belfast….

Hi Karen. What can I recommend to you?
I think you have these choices. 😉

1, Somehow to get to London (Stansted) and than by Ryanair to Pula from Stansted.
(Ryanair cancelled the route from Dublin (this year), but the Stansted route will be on.)

2, Route to Zadar from Dublin and than try to find foot passengers only ferry.
    Here is a link:
    https://www.find-croatia.com/ferries-croatia/pula-zadar-ferry.php
(problem: they still don’t have a timetable for summer 2008. if you need more information, here is a link for travel forum.
    https://www.find-croatia.com/forum/index.php/topic,1257.0.html).

3, As the same as 2, but take bus instead of ferry. (I have no information about route Zadar-Pula)

4, Route to Zadar from Dublin and then by Croatian airlines to Pula from Zadar.

We are going to Rovinj again in September, having been in March.
The route we take is Belfast City to London Stansted and then onto Trieste -all with Ryan Air

    Outward trip:

Leaves Belfast 08.00 and arrive in London 09.10
Leaves London 11.10 and arrive in Trieste 14.10

    Inward trip:

Leaves Trieste 14.35 and arrive London 15.45
Leave London 20.10 and arrive Belfast 21.25

The cost of this is about £120 per person return

When arriving in Trieste there is a bus at 15.00 which goes directly to the bus station in Trieste. (3/4 hour journey) There is a bus which goes to Rovinj around 16.00 or 16.15

    Hope this helps

Martin, thank you for this info i’ll definitely have a look at this route. We are heading to Pula, I hope its not cheeky but would you have a link for the bus timetable you used?, I think the coach you refer to may go the whole way to Pula. If not we could always pick up a hire car but I know this can be a bit tricky from Trieste and would be better sorted out in Pula. Its such a shame Ryanair didn’t resume the Dublin Pula flights…. or at least schedule the timings of the Stansted flight to allow us Folk in Ireland to make the trip in 1 day!! Thanks again
