New ferry boat line Pula – Fazana – Rovinj – Pula

There are some good news comming from Croatian authorities about boats and ferries in Croatia : The municipalities of Pula, Fazana and Rovinj have last week agreed to jointly finance a new ferry boat line that will connect Pula via Fažana (place accross the Brijuni National Park)  and Rovinj.

The new ferry line, which will be a seasonal one, already got approval from Croatian authorities and is now in process of obtaining accreditation of concession.

In the summer months, roads in area around Pula are getting very buzy with daily traffic jams and lack of parking places, so it is expected the new ferry line will improve traffic conditions around Pula as well as in the whole Istria. Check Istria Map for location of Pula, Fazana (Brijuni) and Rovinj.

I’m trying to follow the pilgrimage route of a 15th-century friar who traveled from Germany to the Holy Land and Mount Sinai. From Venice, he sailed by galley ship along the Istrian Peninsula and the Dalmatian Coast, stopping in Rovinj, Zadar, and Dubrovnik (and some smaller islands whose names do not match any that exist now). I know that I can get from Venice to Rovinj by ferry, but is it possible to get from Rovinj to Zadar by ferry, and if so, how? I would be deeply grateful for any help you can offer.
