Pag
Pag is the island of the North Dalmatian group with surface of 284,5 km2. Larger settlements on the island are: Pag, Novalja, Stara Novalja, Lun and Caska.
Southwest coast of the island is flat, and northeast coast is steep and high with Pag bay (with huge bay Caska) and Stara Novalja bay located here.
Climate on the island is Meditarranean, the biggest part of the island is rocky ground, while smaller part is covered by macchia. In the vallyes and fields (Novaljsko, Povljansko, Vlašicko and Dinjsko) wines, vegetables and fruits are cultivated. The area of penninsula Luna is mostly planted with olive trees, so the manufacturing of oil is well developed. Inhabitants also breed sheeps, and make famous Pag cheese.
The tradition on the island is also making of the lace. Beside these, the island is also very famous by salt production. Main towns on the island are linked by road which is the extenstion of the Adriatic highway. Pag is linked to the mainland by bridge as well as by ferry lines – check about ferries to Pag Island and ferry ports Novalja and Zigljen .

Camping on Pag island – There are several camping places on the island of Pag, most of them located along the sea or in small bays with pebble beaches.
Salt Production : Through whole history, until nowadays, the special place in economy of the island of Pag has the salt production. It’s a traditional activity that has been existing on the island for almost thousand years now. In fact, the beginnings of economic prosperity of the island and origin of town Pag connected with beginnings of exploiting of natural suitable shallowly cove inside closed bay (so-called “Valle di Pago”) for salt manufacturing.
Sheep & Cheese – famous Croatian cheese produced on the Island. The most famous and most awarded product of Sirena is the Pag cheese (Paški sir), a product made of sheep milk from the autochtone cheep from Pag. Pag cheese 5 – 18 moths mature characteristically, has a piquant taste, particular smell and mildly marble and grained texture.
