Pelješac Bridge Construction Works Started

roadAccording to Croatian press, the construction works on a Peljesac Bridge to link the southern peninsula of Pelješac with mainland Croatia started last week.

The construction works on the bridge, that was designed by Zagreb’s Faculty of Civil Engineering, will last four years and the costs are estimated to revolve around two billion kuna – the biggest bridge currently under construction in Europe.

The bridge was designed in such a way to allow for the navigation of ships of up to 55 meters in height and 400 meters in width.

The bridge will provide a better connection between the Dubrovnik area and the southern Croatian islands of Korcula, Mljet and Lastovo.

An investment of the Croatian Roads company, the bridge will be built by “Konstruktor” from Split, and “Viadukt” and “Hidroelektra” from Zagreb… Read more about Peljesac Bridge

    As a United Kingdom tourist in your great country,I would like to congratulate everybody who has been and will be involved in the construction of the bridge.It will improve investment,tourism etc. in the whole area.As I am a tourist in the peljesac for 3 months every year I know it will bring great prosperity to the area.As an Englishman who has travelled all over the world,I can honestly say Croatia is the best,and the people are wonderful.My family and I will be back in your beautifull country soon to see all our Croatian friends.See you all soon.
