Plitvice Lakes Marathon
This year’s Plitvice Marathon races (Plitvicki maraton), which attract hundreds of runners each year, will take place on Saturday 2 June 2012.
This will be the 27th year of Plitvi?ki maraton, annually held in Plitvice Lakes National Park, organised by the National Park’s authorities.
The event, which includes three races: 42.2km course, 16km race and 5km run is open to everyone – including professional and amateur runners, adventure racers, teams and families.
Held on the asphalted roads that lead through the forests, meadows and along the beautiful lakes of the National Park, the race and runs are pretty challenging single loops with lot of long and steep parts leading along the most spectacular settings.

Note – although it is usually warm around Plitvice Lakes in June, the area is known to have sometimes extreme weather conditions so make sure you take hat, glows and weatherproof anoraks with you…
