Scuba Diving in the most amazing parts of the Mediterranean
Šibenik recently got its first scuba diving guide titled Diving in the most amazing parts of the Mediterranean.
The guide which was published through the collaboration of the COAST Program of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), the Public institution for the management of protected natural areas and the Diving tourism section at the Croatian Chamber of Economy (HGK).
The Diving Guide’s educational and promotional task is to create a valuable tool in the promotion of diving tourism in the The Šibenik Archipelago and Kornati National Park, which has for many years been noting an increase of visitors due to the exceptional clearness of the sea and richness of the underwater world and has been attracting a growing number of diving enthusiasts into the depths of the sea.
The Guide points out the need to preserve the rich underwater biodiversity, and should help assist in educating employees of the diving centers about the types of habitats, characteristic and protected species and the rich sea flora and fauna that can be encountered in the depths of the sea.
Representatives of the diving centers and the Kornati National Park have supplemented the guide with their own photographs and information about important and valuable diving locations.
