Titian’s Painting “Marija Magdalena” at display in Zagreb

art.gifExhibition titled “Restored Heritage – Tiziano’s Marija Magdalena” is opening tonight at Muzej za Umjetnost i Obrt in Zagreb.

The painting of Marija Magdalena by Tiziano Vecelli, better known in English speaking world as Titian, who was the leader of the 16th-century Venetian school of the Italian Renaissance, is valuable oil on canvas, (dimensions 207×165) that is in possession of Dominican Monastery in Dubrovnik.

The painting was recently restored by restorers of Hrvatski Restauratorski Zavod and will be at display in Zagreb museum until 25.02.07

    Marija Magdalena is better known as Mary Magdalene in English. Titian painted it in 1533.
