  Travelling to Croatia in the first half of August in our camper van.

  My web searches have found lots of large ‘organised’ campsites that arent really what i am after.

  Are there many smaller ‘farm’ sites by the sea or on the islands and if so is there any online directories/maps of where they are?

  Also; I know it will be busy in August; but will we be able to just turn up and find a place or will that be a risky strategy?

  We tend to move around after a few days and want to spend time on the Islands off Zadar; so would prefer not to have to book anything in advance.

  a long the dalmatian coast there i plenty of small camps sites which you do not find on the internet, if you are lucky they might be free 

  On most of the island, there is limited number of campsites, so it might be a bit harder to find something here.

  Generally it is hard to say how July and August will be here, up front bookings are down, but it is hard to say how many people will deside to go here last minute.
