  I shall be driving from dubrovnik to istria over a three week period, and hopefuly seeing a lot of this lovely country.I can drop off the hire car in pula or zagreb, which city is easier for my family and I to reach trieste or venice, by boat or train?

  is you are going to fly to trieste or venice, then it is much better to drop your car in pula, as it is nearer.

  to reach trieste or venice from pula, take bus.

  no rail service is available.

  however, there are flights to pula airport too – just in case you didn’t book your ticket yet..
