Croats set off for ski resorts
According to some estimates, some 250,000 Croats have left the country and are headed for ski resorts in Austria, Italy, France and Slovenia.
Tour operators have sold ten percent more ski packages in 2008 than in 2007, notably for resorts in Austria.
As a result, crossings with Slovenia have seen a rise in traffic since the early morning hours as Croats head for the slopes, or return to work after spending the holidays at home.
At the Bregana border crossing five lanes were opened and cars queued for an hour to enter Slovenia; at Macelj and Pasjak conditions were somewhat better.
