Bus to Rijeka or Zadar and then ferry or Ferry to Rijeka or Zadar and then ferry to Pag.

Maja there are no ferries from Dubrovnik to Zadar. Take ferry from Dubrovnik to Split or to Rijeka. If you choose Split, take bus to Novalja, if you choose Rijeka take fast ferry from Rijeka via Rab to Novalja on Pag. Depends how much time you have you may travel faster or slower via various places or islands.

Buses are better than ferries, they are more frequent and faster. Jadrolinija is slow, very SLOW. Maybe you like slow sailings? Fast katamaran ferry is ok but those slow ferries are boooooooooooooooring

    I don’t agree TG
It is nice way to sail along our coast and pass near lot of islands. Of course, if weather in good it is even better, and of course if you are not in hurry.

    Check all Pag ferries here:

Dubrovnik to Split ferries are here:

buses from Split towards Rijeka leave at least once an hour

He’d be better off to break his journey up if possible, for example stay for a night or two in Dubrovnik (well worth it) before getting an earlier bus up to Zadar (not sure how long it takes in a bus but it’s probably about 5 or 6 hours). There are local buses going to Pag from Zadar (not very far away).

It looks like you will have to take a ferry to Split, then one to Rab, and then one to Novalija. I will be surprised if that is possible on the day you arrive. Bus timetables may change between now and when you travel and there are usually a few more in service during the summer season. The last bus from Zadar to Novalja is at 20.00 and you may be able to get there in time to get it. If not, spend a night in Zadar.
