A protest was held in Sisak under the motto of Sisak?s gas .
Some 1,000 residents of Sisak requested from all Sisak?s polluters: Oil Refinery, Herbos and Termoelektrana to stop polluting air and environment.
The protest that was staged by the ecological association from Sisak, reflects the growing number of ecology-related incidents in the town of Sisak and the number of cases of cancer.
A number of other ecological associations from all over Croatia joined the protest meeting and announced more radical moves should the pollution not stop.

I support this protest they must stop polluting our panet.

Croatia is full of pollution. Look at this :

    Three cases of river pollution

The Chief State Inspector for waters Zeljko Makvic reported three cases of river pollution: the Drava River near Osijek, the Resetarice brook near Resetari, and the Cesma River near Cazma. An oil slick sized 200 x 50 metres was observed on the Drava River on Sunday afternoon under the bridge in Osijek. Makvic said that the slick had disappeared and had not endangered the environment. On Monday morning, dead fish were seen in the Cesma River near Cazma as a result of water pollution. Makvic said that inspectors and experts of the Croatian Waters were in the field, taking specimens of the polluted water for further analysis. The Chief State Inspector for waters also reported that pollution had been observed during the weekend of the Resetarica brook in Resetari near Nova Gradiska. The pollution of Resetarica affected also the Sava River, where foam was detected on the surface. The inspector for waters and the crime police established that the pollution was caused by the waste waters from the Leather Factory Psunj from Resetari. The inspectorate for waters will press charges against the factory.

The parliament has debated the HSS proposal of a conclusion that would obligate the government to give a detailed report on air pollution in Sisak, the number of ecological incidents and measures that are being introduced to combat this.

The Environment Minister Marina Matulovic Dropulic has asked that the debate be limited to the mandate of the current government.

She said that the highest levels of pollution in the Sisak area has been recorded in 1999, 2002 and 2003 and that when the current government took over at the end of 2003 it had introduced several legal provisions to force the INA oil company to improve its production pollution-wise which was actually implemented in 2005
