  I am trying to work out best way of getting from Cres to Rab Island… I believe it’s best to go to Merag on Cres, get the ferry to Valibiska and then a ferry from Valibiksa to Lopar?

  But then i saw on a website that Lopar, Rab, is closed for construction (that was dated Feb this year)? Does anyone know if this is true?

  If it is what other ways can i get from Cres to Rab? love to hear yoru advice, also any websites with timetables would be fab

  Lopar is supposed to be open by July 2008.

  I have a similar need for a car ferry from Rab to Krk  I want to travel from Lopar on Rab to Krk Island (Valbiska) and then on to Cres Island.

  I wrote to Split Tours (operator of the Lopar Ferry to Krk Island) with this wuestion about the re-opening of the Lopar car Ferry line to Rab.  This was the reply I received from Split Tours:

  ” We have a fery from Lopara to Valbiska. We don’t have a corect information abouth it. “

  I thought it was odd that the operator of the Lopar Ferry line doens’t have current or correct information about the re-opening of the Lopar ferry.

  Would appreciate other advice.

  The condition of harbour and works on harbour are out of ferry operator’s control that is why they don’t know.
  This ferry line is not working at the moment as harbour is not in good condition to be in use.

  Is it possible that someone (somewhere) has any idea when the Lopar harbor will be open or when the Lopar car ferry Line might re-open?  Is there any chance that the harbor/car ferry will re-open before September?

  The Split Tours web site reports that the harbor is “supposed to re-open on 1 July.”  However, the email I received from Splitt Tours did NOT confirm a date for re-opening.

  No car car ferry out of Lopar will make travelling from Rab to other islands (Cres, KrK) very difficult.

  It is likely that by September it will be reopened but probably no one can conifmr that

  I hope by September that line will work  but you never know
