Different Loves Same Rights
The Kontra lesbian group and the Centre for the Rights of Sexual and Gender Rights Iskorak have presented Different Loves Same Rights campaign at a press conference in Zagreb.
They are calling for scrapping discrimination against same sex couples.
During the next month in Zagreb, Osijek, Split and Dubrovnik large billboards will be put up depicting same sex couples in different life situations.
8th Gay Pride Parade held in Zagreb
The 8th Zagreb Gay Pride Parade was held in Zagreb on Saturday with some 500 people taking part in the walk from the central Ban Jelacic Square, through the streets of downtown Zagreb and then back to the square where they encountered an Anti-gay protest attended by some 60 members of the Croatian Nationalist?s Organisation and the Croatian Party of Pure Rights, some of whom hurled insults while others attempted to disperse those attending the parade.
Tight police security prevented outright conflicts among the two group and five Anti-gay protesters were arrested. The Gay Pride Parade concluded with a rally and concert on Zrinjevac Square.
