    Holiday Options goes bust

Specialist tour operator Holiday Options has entered administration.

All the advance bookings held by the operator, which number about 1,100, have been taken over by Cambridge-based travel company Light Blue Travel.

A spokesman from Light Blue confirmed all customers would travel as planned, under the same booking conditions.Customers currently overseas will also return as planned.

Light Blue Travel is in the process of writing to Holiday Options’ customers explaining the situation.

A message on the company’s answering machine thanked customers and travel agents for their support for the last 16 years.

    Telegraph writes :

Holiday Options, an operator that specialised in Mediterranean breaks, has gone into administration after 16 years.

They predict that “The travel industry is bracing itself for a flurry of failures over the coming weeks. Earlier this month Plimsoll Publishing, a leading travel industry analyst, predicted that nearly 300 tour operators could collapse or be taken over in the next year. “
