  Sting Operation – Two Arrested Under Suspicion of Bribery

  Two men were arrested on Thursday, after police and the Office for the Prevention of Corruption and Organised Crime launched sting operation “Five-star”. Ivo Zeravica (45), the assisting head of the State Administration Office for the Dubrovnik-Neretva County and Antun Kralj (58), the owner and director of the Dubrovnik-based construction company ‘Konel’ were arrested and detained by police under the suspicion of demanding almost half a million euros from the owner of the Bellevue Hotel, Goran Strok, to procure him an operating permit. Zeravica and Kralj go before the investigative judge of the Split County Court on Saturday.

  Two men arrested on Thursday in a joint sting operation of the police and the Office for the Prevention of Corruption and Organised Crime called ?Five-star? went before a judge of the Split County Court on Saturday.

  Ivo Zeravica (45), the assisting head of the State Administration Office for the Dubrovnik-Neretva County and Antun Kralj (58), the owner and director of the Dubrovnik-based construction company ?Konel? were arrested and detained by police under the suspicion of demanding ? 440,000 from the owner of the Bellevue Hotel, Goran Strok, to procure him an operating permit.

  According to unofficial sources, the attempt of extortion was filmed and the money was to have been paid to an account owned by Konel.

  Dubrovnik Racketeers Get One-Month Detention

  The state clerk, Ivo Zeravica, and the owner of the Konel construction company, Antun Kralj, suspected of extortion and bribing money from the owner of the Bellevue Hotel in Dubrovnik, Goran Strok, were given one-month detention at the county prison.

  The Split County Court investigative judge has requested an investigation into the matter.

  The two men are believed to have requested almost half a million euros payment from Goran Strok in order to procure him an operating permit for the Bellevue Hotel.
