Cool SanaderGuestCroatia and Montenegro have turned a new page in their ties that are based on good neighbourly relations and a common goal ? accession to the European Union and NATO, said in Podgorica Croatian Prime Minister Ivo Sanader and his Montenegrin counterpart Zeljko Sturanovic.
Ivo Sanader is the first Croatian Prime Minister, and first Prime Minister in general to officially visit Montenegro since it gained independence, pointed out as a very significant fact both PMs in their statements at a press conference.
The Croatian Prime Minister said that the past cannot be forgotten, adding that Montenegro’s distancing from and apologizing for the attack on Dubrovnik and the aggression on Croatia have created conditions for the establishment of good relations.
Well done Sanader!

Montenegro and Croatia boost cooperation
In a first visit of a Croatian prime minister to Montenegro after the country gained independence last June, Ivo Sanader stressed the importance of good neighborly relations and of a joint push to achieve membership in NATO and the EU, offering Croatia?s full assistance in the process.
He also said the two countries will soon sign an agreement pertaining to minority rights as well as a permanent agreement on borders.
?eljko ?turanovi? welcomed the cooperation agreement signed Friday as an important event deepening institutional cooperation between the two neighboring countries with the goal of joining the Euro-Atlantic integrations.
While Croatia already has a status of a EU candidate and expects to join the Union in 2009, Montenegro expect to be officially granted a candidate status this year. [/i]
