I understand that the car ferry (operated by Split Tours) between Rab (Lopar) and Krk (Valbiska) is currently (June 2008) closed due to maintenance in the Lopar ferry harbor. I want to travel by car between Rab (Lopar) and Krk (Valbiska) using this car ferry during the last week of August. I wrote to Split Tours (operator of the Lopar Ferry to Krk Island) asking about the date for the re-opening of the Rab-Krk car ferry (Lopar-Valbiska). Split Tours replied saying that they do not know yet when the car ferry between Rab (Lopar) and Krk (Valbiska) will return into operation.
Does anyone know or have any idea when the car ferry between Rab abd Krk will return to daily operations – or if there is a chance it will be operational by last week of August? Having to use the other car ferry line from the mainland to travel between Rab and other islands (via mainland) will be very inconvenient based on our itinerary.
