    Does anyone know if there is a ferry from the Split area to the Porec area? Or any suggestions on the best way to get there?

    As far as I knowm there are no ferries that sail from Split to Istria.

    I would suggest you to take Jadrolinija’s ferry from Split to Rijeka and then to travel by bus from Rijeka to Porec via Pula.

    For ferry timetable , check http://www.jadrolinija.hr

    Buses from Rijeka to Pula run at these times: RIJEKA – PULA – 00.25. 3, 3.40, 4.10, 5.10, 6.30, 8.30, 9, 10, 11, 12, 12.30, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17,17.45, 18, 18.45, 20.30, 21.55

    Bus from Pula to Porec  is running at : 6, 7 (except Sunday), 8.15, 9.30 (except Sat and Sun),11.30, 11.45 (except Sun), 14.10, 14.30, 15.10 (except Sat and Sun), 17.15, 18.30 (Mon, Wed, Sun), 19.30 (except Sat and Sun), 19.40, 20.15

    Also, there is a bus that connects Split and Pula with following timetable :

    PULA – SPLIT – departure 6.45,  11.00,  20 .00. They arrive in Pula at  16.45,  21.00, and  6.00

    Oh my god, I remember once, I was travelling from Split to Pula by bus to visit my brother  ( he was doing his army/navy training in Pula at Mozil baracs)

    It took me ages to arrive.
    The best bit of the whole journey was that stretch of bus ride from Rijeka to Pula – I think I took some kind of local bus service – it stopped at every village in Istria  :
    I thought I will never arrive. But I did and had great time there.
