Getting from Split to Venice in August

sandyGuestWhat are my options for getting to Venice from Split (or surrounding areas) on 8/20/. This is a Tuesday and I am renting a car for a week and thought I’d just drive it back to Venice to catch our morning flight on the 21st, but I just found out the drop fee for the rental car makes it very expensive. It seems all the ferries leave by 8 am or earlier and it looks like a 6-hour drive from Split to any of these ports. Are there other ferries later in the day during summer? Or a train or bus route? I can drop my car anywhere in Croatia. There are no good flight connections that I know of.
KrzysztofGuestHi guys, new here. I’ll be traveling to Croatia next month and would like some help regarding transportation. I need to find the best way to travel from Venice to Split. I was thinking bus would be the best option, but I can’t find much information on the internet regarding this. I was looking to leave the afternoon of August 8th if that helps any more. I have been looking up and down the internet with no luck yet. Any information and help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!
MarioSpectatorTake bus to Rijeka, then ferry to Split.

PeterSpectatorNo ferries from Venice to Pag nor from Pag to Hvar.
You would need to take buses and local ferries.

MarioSpectatorI think you will be better off to travel from Venice to Trieste and Rijeka to Split.

Any help greatly apreciatedYou don’t have lot of options. From Rijeka to Split by bus or ferry unless you want to visit Istria. In that case there are ferries from Venice to Pula / Porec / Rovinj…
Marion09GuestHi, I would like to travel from Split to Venice toward end of June , need help with ferries and/or trains

Hi Marion, there are no any ferries that sail from Venice to Split.
Take ferry or bus from Split to Rijeka and then change in Rijeka for a bus to Trieste and Venice.
PetarGuestHi Sandy, ferries from Istria to Venice are scheduled once a day and there are no other ferries that will sail later in the day. The best option for you is probably to drive to Rijeka and drop a car there and take a bus to Trieste and train from there to Venice.
You can also consider dropping the car in Dubrovnik airport and flying to Venice from there if that suit you or drop a car in Split and fly to Venice. Also, check the option with taking two ferriesCheck these flights info: https://www.volotea.com/en/cheap-flights/split/venice/
