    Hello,

I’m travelling to Croatia in October and I am wondering if anyone has some recommendations on guide books for the country. I will be spending the entire time in the Dalmatia and Dubrovnik regions. I’m hoping to find a book that covers entertainment (i.e. outdoor activities, restaurants, nightlife, etc.) and culture (museums, historical sights, gastronomy – this very important, etc.), and functional information such as ferry and bus schedules and car rentals. Any advice is greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Hi, I think the best Guide Book is definitely the Rough Guide to Croatia…it’s really insightful and actually talks about every part of the country and not just the tourist spots. I also thought it was really well written and it was easy to navigate…i.e. to find the specific piece of information you were after.

The Bradt Travel Guide is also very good, although the Lonely Planet one leaves a lot to be desired!!
